October 2019 Wrap Up

October Wrap Up

So October was a long as heck month for me. These last two weeks have been a particular kind of awful for my personal life, and I am so ready to take November off. Mostly to participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I don’t have a novel set, I’m going to write some much needed fanfiction to feel like my soul is mine again.

And the only book I have plans to read is Call Down The Hawk. Which I am so excited about. I got my Owlcrate shipping notification this morning, so the book will be in my hands in a matter of days! Ahhh!

With all of that out of the way, I read 8 books this October. 4 eARCs from Net Galley, and 4 physical books.

This month I read two picture books, 2 graphic novels and 4 regular novels, one of which was one of my most anticipated books of the year, Weapon by Lynette Noni. The review for that book hasn’t gone up yet as I am a part of the Pantera Press book tour in a few days’ time, so I’ll be posting my full review and spoiler-free thoughts on the 8th!

I’ve also been reading a selection of books for my friend Sarah (LINK) and I’ve been a guest on her blog to review a few books, so I’ll post links to my reviews there, too, as well as link my own reviews below (Beautiful Mess review is to come).

Here is a list of the things I read this month:

The Peacock Detectives by Carly Nugent  (My review on Sarah’s Blog)

Weapon by Lynette Noni

A Little Bit Different by Claire Alexander

Monsters Are Afraid of Babies by Nicholas Tana

Beautiful Mess by Claire Christian (My review on Sarah’s Blog)

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord

Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me by Mariko Tamaki

Brina The Cat: The Gang of the Feline Sun by Giorgio Salati

I think this was quite a successful reading month if I’m honest.

What about you – how did you think your reading month went? Let me know in a comment below!

  1. For some reason, I just kind of stopped reading. Going to bed and just falling asleep or on Instagram mostly. I’m back getting stuck into the reading again but I find when I’m anxious or feeling mediocre, reading is the last thing I really feel like doing. You’ve had a brilliant month of books though! PS. Also keep finding you in damn spam on my blog again because of the emojis.
