It’s that time of the month again where I’m wrapping up the books I’ve read. I feel comfortable doing this on the last day of the month (hello 29th of February! Long time no see!) because I don’t have any active plans to read today, or start a new book.
I actually took about 12 days off reading right after the first week because I needed to. And it worked out well because there was so much family drama going on that I don’t think I could have concentrated on reading even if I wanted to.
I did watch season two of You, which I surprisingly enjoyed. I watched Charlie’s Angels twice, I watched Frozen 2 twice, and I watched Birds of Prey once. Three queer as heck movies featuring incredible women. I loved them all so much. I did have plans to have reviews written up for them and posted in the month of February but I have no idea what happened to be honest.
Best laid plans and all that, hey?
Right, so, I got 8 books read this month. That also includes two books I DNF (did not finish). Two! I am so proud of me for actually doing it.
But then the half empty is that I should definitely have DNFed Cracked Up To Be because that book was fucking garbage to me. Ugh, I’m still so mad at myself.
I do have reviews up for most of the books I read this month, and the last ones will go up as soon as I’ve written them.
So the books I read for February are:
1) Cracked Up To Be by Courtney Summers – 1 star
3) What The Other Three Don’t Know by Spencer Hyde – 1 Star DNF
4) Anne by Zarina Macha – 3 stars
5) Break The Fall by Jennifer Iacopelli – 4 stars
6) Winterborne Home for Vengeance and Valour by Ally Carter – 4 stars
7) Every Reason We Shouldn’t by Sara Fujimura – 1 star DNF
8) How To Save The Dragon by Madeleine Matthews – 3 stars
Because I suck at maths, I can’t even work out what my average star rating is for the month. I’m thinking around the 2.5/3 star mark.
Frankly, this feels like it was a shit reading month. There were only two queer books read (Hazel’s Theory of Evolution and Anne) and there should always be more in my opinion.
There are still Net Galley ARCs I have to read, so I’ll be prioritising those, as well as whatever books publishers give me. Which is a thing I’ll be talking about in another post, so that’s also coming lol.
Anyway, that’s my February 2020 wrap up!
How was your reading month? Did you set a goal? And achieve it, if you did? Also, what was your favourite book of the month?
